Me, Meiping & Huizhen went to Jazz & Blue Disco in that afternoon ard 2.30pm to take a look at the disco and get familar with the surrounding.. Disco seems to be close and no sight of China Dolls..
7pm, after dinner we headed to Jazz & Blue Disco.. The disco staff were already there, but we couldnt go in yet.. According to them, China Dolls just had a rehearsal.. Oh! So sad that we missed them! Bought our tickets and the time stated was 9pm..
It was only till 8.45pm, then we were able to go into the disco.. Still not much ppl yet.. maybe it's still early and ppl might thought that the concert would begin at 10pm, as in the news from Jetrave website.
China Dolls' "Wan Sui VCD" was being played while we waited patiently for the concert to begin.. 9pm.. 10pm.. The VCD finished its last song and looped back to the 1st song "Wan Sui Wan Sui Wan Wan Sui".. Still the concert had not started.. Where's my China Dolls??
I forgot how many times exactly we had watched that Wan Sui VCD throughout that night, maybe 3 or 4 times.. Ard 11pm, the local band started to play some music.. Haha, I thought I could see Bell & Hwahwa soon.. But no, the group of 4 singers started to warm up the audience by singing some of the most popular songs.. I think they sang ard 8 songs, or even more... It's only ard 11.30pm, the real show began... Wow, we had waited more than 4 hours for it.. By then the disco was already crowded with ppl.. and some children too...
China Dolls certainly looked different as they appeared from the backstage.. They looked more mature and of cos, more beautiful.. Bell & Hwahwa started their JB concert with "Huan You Shi Jie Ding Ding Dong" (Chinese version of Ting Nong).. They were always so friendly and waved to the audience.. Their smiles really made my heart melted.. "Suan La Tang" was their 2nd song for that night.. A lively music that surrounded the whole disco..
After China Dolls' 2nd song of the night "Suan La Tang", Hwahwa tried to introduce their next song, the "Mak Pai Paow" (Thai version of "Wo Mei You Na Me Ben").. But she seemed to be lost at what she was going to say, leaving Bell looking so innocent and blur at Hwahwa.. Then Hwahwa explained that she didnt know what she's going to say cos she's too happy to see S'pore fans there at JB.. She only knew that their next song would be a Thai song.. Haha, Hwahwa U really made me love U even more!
I think it's the 1st time that I heard China Dolls singing "Mak Pai Paow" live.. I wished that my Thai was better or at least I had memorised that Thai lyrics better before I came for the concert.. So what I could do was only to try to sing a little during the chorus part and enjoy their song.. Hehe, but came to that Chinese rap, of cos we shouted all that we had.. "Tai guo fen, ni tai guo fen, wo mei you ni xiang de na me ben..."
After this song, Bell said that she's happy enough to see her fans supporting them and come to their concerts, so there's no need to buy any presents for them.. I think by now, U should know what's their next song.. Hehe, yup... That's "Bu Yao Ni De Li Wu"! I always liked this song, cos at least at the chorus part we could all dance together with China Dolls.. Hehe, sometimes I'm quite proud abt that and everyone always had fun singing and dancing in this song..
After their 4th song, suddenly Hwahwa asked the audience for the time.. It's already almost 12 midnight.. And Hwahwa said "Oh! I was meeting my boyfriend at 12.. I must go now.." And off she ran to the backstage.. leaving Bell alone grinning at the fans.. Haha, Bell was going to sing solo... And sure indeed, she started to sing "Chi Dao", this time without Hwahwa beside her.. I think Bell really sang good and she sounded sooooo sweet.. Too sweet liao! Haha..
And next of cos it's Hwahwa's turn to sing solo.. And she chose the song "Wo Shi Dan". Hwahwa sang with great feelings and occasionally looked at us so emotionally.. Wow, my heart melted again la.. Hehe... And this was also my 1st time listening to Bell and Hwahwa's solo.. They sounded great when solo and when they're together, they are prefect, complementing each other.. Hmm.. maybe China Dolls can consider singing solo each in their new album????? Hehe.. just a suggestion la..
Now came the game part.. Seemed like China Dolls' concert would always have a small game section with the fans.. Perhaps it's their way of interacting with fans, bringing fans even closer to their idols.. 2 guys and gals were selected to play the game.. It's a great pity that none of us, fans from S'pore was given the chance to go up the stage.. So the 4 audiences were separated to 2 groups, male vs female... And a balloon was placed between each couple, they had to burst it using the shortest time and without using their hands.. I guess this game was also being played at the other 3 concerts in Malaysia.. The gal team won, not becos they had successfully bursted their balloon, but becos the balloon had not been tied tight and it deflated!! Hwahwa and Bell bursted into laughters when they saw that the balloon deflated.. Hwahwa especially, just couldn't stop laughing.. Hahaha... And so the winners were given the chance to choose their presents.. They chose to take away an autographed CD and VCD each.. While the losing team was given photos of China Dolls.. these photos were specially given by China Dolls and couldn't be found in any other places!! If I'm the one to choose, I'll certainly choose the photos.. but too bad... I'm not that lucky one..
After that fun and laughter, the time was given back to China Dolls again.. Hwahwa said to
Bell that she's feeling warm.. Bell naughtily asked her if she's going to take off her clothes.. "No.." Hwahwa
laughed and took off her hat as she was feeling hot and the next song would be another fast and exciting song.. Hwahwa
jokingly said, after taking off her hat, she is still Hwahwa afterall.. Of cos, China Dolls will still be China Dolls
no matter what.. And I think no one would be able to replace them..
The 7th song of the night was "Lu Bian De Ye Hua Bu Yao Cai".. China Dolls sang and danced to the fast rthyme of the song as if they had just started the concert.. That's China Dolls, always so energetic.. When the song ended, audience shouted out " Sing Wo Ai Ni.." Actually I'm quite surprised to hear the uncles to have this song request.. I thought they were just some men drinking in the disco, who didn't know much abt pop music.. Of cos, Bell and Hwahwa started to sing from the chorus of "Wo Ai Ni".. Even without the music, China Dolls sang it so perfectly, and it's still the song that made me..... Ahh.. so sweet and nice... Yes, I LOVE U, China Dolls!!!
Representative from the disco presented 2 bouquets of roses to China Dolls, as a token of appreciation.. Hwahwa was given blue roses and pink roses to Bell.. I guess Bell would prefer the blue roses cos they looked so special and she always like blue colour.
China Dolls introduced another song from their latest Chinese album, "Wan Sui Wan Sui Wan Wan Sui".. It's another happy song and reminded me of Beachboys.. China Dolls are just like the Beachgirls to me.. As they sang and danced, they threw autographed posters of this Malaysia Tour Concert 2003 to the audience.. We tried our best to grab them, but too bad Bell and Hwahwa threw them too far back.. and our arms were too short too.. >_<
Hwahwa said they were so touched to see fans who came and supported them throughout all the 4 concerts in Malaysia, especially when all the 4 concert venues were so far away. I think for China Dolls, it's worth the time and effort to travel all the way to see them perform.. If I can, I'll go for that 1st concert in Kuala Lumpur as well.. But I can't, all becos of the Sars...
The 2nd Thai song of that night was the remix Thai version of "Oh Oh Oh".. Hwahwa jokingly said for the fans who had come for all the 4 concerts might get sick from listening to the same remix version by then.. Hehe, as long as it's China Dolls music I guess we wont get sick of it.. China Dolls commented that if they had the chance, they would want to come to Malaysia and perform again. Oh.. I wish that they will also have the chance to come to S'pore and have a concert.. It's almost 3 years since the last concert at Indoor Stadium.. A lot of ppl miss the concert a lot.. T_T
The finale was that very same song which made China Dolls famous and brought them to our lives.. Yes, it's "Dan Yan Pi Nu Sheng"!! That was also the 10th song for the night. I agree with what Hwahwa has said, becos of this song, ppl get to know China Dolls.. That applies to me too! The 1st time when I saw China Dolls perform this song, as compared to this time, the feelings was complex. China Dolls are still the same, but the way they sang and danced had changed. I was quite surprised to see China Dolls leaving the concert right after the last song.. They just walked straight to the backstage after thanking the audience.. I think... I think they had gone too soon.. I thought that they might stayed a bit longer.. maybe it's becos I couldn't bear to see China Dolls leave again.. When would I see them again????
Hwahwa was so active and full of energy throughout the whole night, but Bell seemed tired.. I think that's becos of their tight schedule and that night was their 4th and last concert in the Tour Concert.. After this series of concerts, China Dolls will have to continue with their preparations for their new albums.. Just wanna say, "Bell and Hwahwa.. Take care of Urself.. We'll always support U and love U, no matter where U are! And I thank U both for giving us a wonderful performance again..."
